Welcome to WorshipGTR!
Celebrating and elevating the worship guitar player.
At JET Pedals, we love great tone, great gear and great worship songs. But we know that at the core of all that we love about the musical expression of worship are people who pour their souls and passion out on a platform on PURPOSE. This publication is about honoring the people behind the guitars; the passion behind the tones and the soul behind the boards. We are elevating YOU - the worship guitar player - with stories, inspiration and education and joining you on your journey toward greatness.
We are so excited to bring you the new WorshipGTR experience. What began as an online magazine dedicated to guitar gear and reviews is now a place for spotlighting the people on the platform. Of course gear matters, but our intent with this corner of the digital world is to get to know each other. Get beyond the rig rundowns and get to the heart of the player. What drives us to put in the effort to practice after our 9-5? What gets us up at dawn on Sundays for 7:00 am rehearsals and 3 services? What encourages us to invest in our tone, our technique and skills? Many of us are not achieving fame. We are not being paid. We are sacrificing our own time and treasure.
Are we crazy? Are we obsessed? What in the world makes us do this?
Purpose.
Playing worship guitar is unique because it unites passion, profession and higher purpose. Playing on the worship platform gives our obsession a fruitful outlet. Our tone, our playing, even our presence on stage helps create a sacred space for turning hearts toward God. Our music lifts hearts and eyes. This passion gets in deep. We research, plan, play, dial in - eat, sleep, breath guitar.
This publication is for you. WorshipGTR celebrates the people who are dedicated to the worship platform and inspires worship guitar players to grow and explore as they walk out their calling.
The People Behind the Guitars
Since we started JET Pedals, we always envisioned more than a pedal company. We envisioned building a global community of worship guitar players who know, support and celebrate one another. A community that cheers each other on toward the goal. Now, more than ever, the idea of uniting our community seems imperative.
Our hope for WorshipGTR is to tell stories from within our community. In a culture where fame decides who is important, it’s our desire to tell the story of “the regular guy (or gal).” Stories told by players just like you who are answering the call to play for purpose. We want to uncover people who are serving their local church with passion, dedication, and artistry. We want to share YOUR story.
Purpose Behind the Tones
The worship music context is unique in that it’s more than effects and sweet rifs - it’s about creating spaces and moments that draw people into an emotional and spiritual connection. It’s about inviting people to take their eyes off themselves and turn their eyes upward. Worship guitar players have a unique role in creating the atmosphere for modern worship.
This is why tone matters. This is why you care about how your sound is blending with the rest of the band. This is why you obsess over dialing in just the right amp tone. You understand the assignment. You get how your role inspires and uplifts your congregation. It’s our hope to support players in further dissecting their tone to better understand how to enhance it. If you don’t fully understand your unique tone you’ll be fooled into thinking that the next device du jour is what you need to get the sound you’re after. We hope to help you take the time to know your tone.
Path Towards Greatness
We know that being a worship guitarist is an ever-evolving role. We hope to honor you on your path by keeping you informed through educational content on gear, tone, and playing techniques. It’s our hope that this community will be a support to you on your musical and spiritual journey and unite us in the purpose of playing worship guitar. We hope the content you find here will encourage and inspire you to stay on the path.
