Elevation Church located in Charlotte, North Carolina, is home to one of our favorite worship bands. Nearly every year Elevation Worship releases a live recorded album and they choose to do the recording at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte. On top of the new venue location they choose to invite the world. We could not resist so we purchased our tickets a month or so in advance and anxiously waited.

August 1st finally came. The night before 4 of us left for Charlotte. Stopping overnight in West Virginia we barely could sleep from the excitement. We arrived in Charlotte on Friday around noon and ate at the City Smoke smokehouse and then waited for the event in our hotel room.

Arriving at the arena around 5pm we waited in line a little over an hour and a half before the doors opened. As we entered the arena and found our seats we were in awe of the trusses and lighting equipment that we flying high above us in the arena.

Looking on stage we spotted the three electric guitar player’s rigs. While we were unable to get a close up view of their setups here is what we noticed about the 3 electric guitarists rigs.

During the countdown I had something that rarely happens to me at a concert. Normally I tend to be very focused even distracted with the electric guitar players. This time I found myself completely engrossed in the worship experience. The holy spirit was moving undeniably in that arena. For two hours we worshiped and sang along with this band, to songs we had never heard before. Somehow we were able to sing everything. I cannot say enough about this event. By far the best concert I have been too but more importantly one of the best worship nights I have ever been to. The production and musicianship was flawless. Vocally their lead vocalists nailed it.

The new album, “Wake Up the Wonder”, will be releasing on November 25th and all of us at WorshipGtr.com cannot wait to get it. From the latest updates from social media it appears that most of it (at least guitar wise) is being re-tracked. You can be sure that there will be a review shortly after we get the album in our hands. If you would like to order the album visit ElevationWorship.com.
