Junior and Jayme Thomason of JET Pedals, guitar pedal manufacturer in Kansas City, acquired the platform, Worship Guitar Magazine. Now branded WorshipGTR, the platform was founded in 2014, by Worship guitarist Aaron Lehman for worship guitar players and worship leaders.
“I had been looking for an opportunity to transition the magazine to someone I knew would continue what I’d started and make it even better. I wanted to see it go to the right person - and after speaking with Junior & Jayme, I knew it was the right fit,” said Aaron Lehman, founder and former owner.
JET Pedals has built a global community around its core focus on worship guitar players. By acquiring WorshipGTR, JET hopes to better serve the needs of their customers and community by giving them the content they want on a medium they’ve come to love.
“We know our community is hungry for content related to their passion and calling,” said Junior “JET” Thomason. “With this opportunity, we hope to better meet the needs of our community by delivering educational, inspiring, and product related content in their preferred formats. Aaron and his team created a deep base of content for worship guitar players of all levels, and we’re excited to take the helm and see his work reach the next level. Through our acquisition of WorshipGTR, we are excited to offer our customers even more resources and support throughout their musical journey.
Jayme Thomason (Junior’s wife), worship leader and guitar player for Vineyard Church, will assume the chief editorial position for the site. Jayme has been serving her local church for 7 years, and is passionate about continuing the magazine’s commitment to worship guitar players and worship leaders.
“We’re excited to bring a fresh perspective to WorshipGTR and help it reach a new level of excellence and contribute in a more significant way to the worship community,” said Jayme. With her extensive background in both marketing and journalism, Jayme provides valuable experience that will help the platform expand and develop in new, exciting ways.
WorshipGTR was started with a vision to be “The Worship Guitarist’s Magazine.” The new ownership hopes to see Aaron’s vision reborn and become the largest voice of worship guitar players in the coming years. Junior and Jayme are actively making plans for the site and plan to start releasing new content on WorshipGTR.com in the coming weeks.
